Browser Testing

For the sake of these examples I have assumed you have been working in firefox. This keeps the code simple and easy to read. When developing for more browsers, nameley Internet Explorer, some browser checking is required. This is one of the benefits to creating your own wrapper for an abstraction layer or using a toolkit.
